From their headquarters in South Australia, the team at Maipac have your coffee pod manufacturing requirements covered. Servicing businesses across all corners of Australia, they are renowned for their premium quality coffee capsules (also known as coffee capsules), outstanding customer service and fast turnaround time. With over 20 years of experience in the coffee industry, Maipac provides the best compostable and aluminum coffee capsules service on the market.
What made you start Maipac?
Our founding business Coffee Complex has been in the industry for over 20 years, renown for importing the best coffee machines from around the globe and making them available to their Australian customers. Another segment of the business is dedicated to servicing coffee machines of all shapes and sizes, and through this Coffee Complex was able to identify the upcoming market trends. After noticing a shift in consumer demands from larger coffee machines to smaller, single serve coffee machines that used coffee capsules instead of beans, the team saw a fantastic opportunity and managed to jump on coffee capsule manufacturing very early in the piece.
With so many fantastic businesses producing high quality coffee beans, we saw an opportunity to work with them to convert their coffee beans into custom coffee capsules, without compromising flavour profile or freshness. And that’s how Maipac was born, a co-packing, coffee capsule manufacturer service like no other.
What’s your point of difference?
Our years of experience working in the industry has allowed us to guarantee customer satisfaction every single time no matter the size of the production run. Creating custom coffee capsules is our bread and butter and our expertise in single serve production is unlike any other. In the coffee capsule manufacturing industry, we work WITH our clients and like to think of every project as a partnership, working together to create a seamless process and end result. As a family-owned business, we pride ourselves on our reputation and our promise to get the job done, on time and on budget.
Explain the process for anyone looking to do business with you.
When it comes to coffee capsule manufacturing, there’s no such thing as one size fits all. Here at Maipac, we tailor each process to our customers based on their desired outcome.
First, we will identify your target market, which will determine the best option to maximise your coffee capsule sales. The second step of the process involves sampling, and when we’re talking about coffee, it all starts with the right beans and roast profile. We’ll work with you to select your desired blend for your brand and packaging requirements, ensuring your customers get the perfect coffee, every time. Then, leave the rest to us, we’ll begin production, packing and will have your custom coffee capsules ready for distribution – it really is that simple!
Importance of using sustainable materials in 2022.
There has never been a more critical time to place sustainability at the forefront of your business strategy – and that’s why here at Maipac, we have devoted time and research into supplying coffee capsules to our customers that are sustainable. Watching the market closely, we go above and beyond to ensure that we are constantly evolving to do everything we can to reduce our carbon footprint. In today’s society, consumers are smarter and more aware than ever, and if you’re not staying on top of sustainability trends, it’s likely your brand will get left behind.
Why should coffee bean businesses consider offering their product in pod form?
A fun fact: there are currently 3 million coffee capsules being consumed in Australia DAILY, with these numbers forecasted to rise year on year. While there are many people who will never look past coffee beans, the coffee capsule market is growing rapidly due to its convenience and great taste. If you’re a coffee bean business, why would you pass up the opportunity to expand your product portfolio, appeal to a wider demographic and increase your revenue?
Coffee capsules are made to complement beans, not replace.
Your journey from the back of a Coffee Complex to now opening your own location: what has been a pivotal point in the business journey?
